Blog Post #24 - Entering the House Sequence

I decided to also use an over-the-shoulder shot while trying to open the door. I did this in order to add on to the sense of urgency and immediacy. This camera angle places the audience in the position of the character, creating a feeling of immersion and making the scene feel more intense.

By showing the character struggling to open the door in this way, the audience is able to sense the danger approaching from behind and share in the character's sense of panic and desperation. This creates a stronger emotional connection between the audience and the character and makes the scene more impactful.

Additionally, the over-the-shoulder camera angle can also be used to heighten the sense of claustrophobia and confinement. By showing the character struggling to open the door from this angle, the audience is able to see how narrow and constrictive the space is, making it feel like there is no escape.

Overall, the purpose of showing the character struggling to open a door with an over-the-shoulder camera angle is to create a sense of urgency and immediacy, heighten the emotional impact of the scene, and add to the sense of claustrophobia and confinement. It is one of the techniques I used to make the audience feel more connected to the character and to increase the sense of danger and horror in the scene.
