Blog Post #22 - Transitioning Scene
In the next part of the movie, a character can be seen running towards a house. However, it is still unknown what the character is running away from. This was solely done in order to emphasize the feeling of suspense and the fear of the unknown but to also add some mystery to the movie.
I showed a various use of camera angles throughout this particular part of the movie. One of the most notable is the high-angle shot. These shots were taken from a high position and were used to make the subject appear smaller and more vulnerable. This was a crucial part of my movie because it helped set the tone for the scenes going forward.
Once the character runs up to the first light hanging by the house, the light suddenly turns off after the character passes it. This was done in order to create a sense of tension and danger. This technique is often used in
horror movies to add to the suspense of a chase or escape scene, and to
create a feeling of uncertainty and vulnerability for the character, which is why I decided to incorporate it into my movie.
In addition to adding to the tension and danger of the scene, the dimming of the light can also be used to create a sense of foreshadowing or to signal the presence of a supernatural force or entity. This can add to the overall sense of horror and dread, as the audience anticipates what is going to happen next.
