Blog Post #8 - Final Project Update
One of the first few things that I have been doing regarding this project is doing extensive sound and genre research. Sound research in movies plays an important role in the overall production and viewing experience. Sound designers and engineers use sound research to create realistic and immersive soundscapes that enhance the emotional impact of a film.
One area of sound research in movies is the study of how sound can be used to create a sense of space and location. This includes the use of ambient sounds and sound effects to create a realistic sense of a specific location, such as a city or a forest. Another area of sound research in movies is the study of how music can be used to evoke specific emotions and enhance the overall storytelling of a film.
On the other hand, research in the horror genre of movies involves the study of how sound and music can be used to create a sense of fear, suspense, and tension. One area of research in horror movies is the use of sound effects to create a sense of unease, such as the use of high-pitched screams or sudden loud noises. Another area of research is the use of music to create a sense of tension, such as the use of dissonant chords, atonal sounds, or slow, methodical rhythms.
In summary, sound research in movies is a field that
involves the use of scientific principles and techniques to create
realistic, emotionally engaging and immersive soundscapes that enhance
the storytelling and overall viewing experience while research in horror movies is a field that involves the use of scientific principles and techniques to create soundscapes and musical scores that create fear, tension, and suspense, manipulate audience's perception of time and space and build and release anticipation. By knowing and incorporating this, my project will turn out to be more successful and well made.
